1. ENTER EACH HURRICANE SEASON PREPARED. Every June through November, recheck your supply of boards, tools, batteries, nonperishable foods, and the other equipment you will need if a hurricane strikes your town.
2. WHEN YOU HEAR THE FIRST TROPICAL CYCLONE ADVISORY, listen for future messages. This will prepare you for a hurricane emergency well in advance of the issuance of watches and warnings.

We’ve all seen those dogs standing in the bow of boats with their ears blowing in the wind as they try to catch the spray in their face—it looks cute, right? Most of our four-legged friends naturally position themselves up in the boat to better enjoy the experience. As pet moms and dads, we just need to remember that if we’re operating our boats in choppy water your dog could be propelled overboard very easily.

Another great Texas Race Week was enjoyed in mid-July!
Thanks for all the racers who sailed, the friends who partied for three nights, and thanks to the Race Committee, and Walter and Beverly Caldwell for their planning and execution of the Event. Galveston will long remember GBCA and we look forward to returning!

Fun Summer of Rum Races
GBCA members and guests are enjoying a fun summer of Rum Races. We have an average of 70 boats out sailing on the scheduled Saturday afternoons.
Seabrook Marina has Boat Slips available for the weekend and some right on the Clear Lake Channel for VIP viewing of all the boats roaring past.
